Basement Project

The Camous family desired a space to entertain family and friends, while providing a place for each of them to engage in their own hobbies.  By completing  the 1,122  sq. ft. basement, Solid Rock Construction was able to create a family oasis to meet everyone’s needs.  A family room housed the pool table and provided a comfy place to come to together and relax,  along-side a full bathroom.    A recreation room was equipped with a wine workstation for the wine enthusiast in the family, a mirrored wall with ballet bar for the family’s ballerina, and workout equipment completed the home gym.   With not an inch of space wasted, the area underneath the stairs was utilized as a wine cellar and a small, unfinished area provided needed storage.  The media room completed this basement retreat, providing a place for family and friends to hang out on movie night.

HGTV Indoor Koi Pond Addition

Bob, a Koi enthusiast, dreamed of creating a pond room for his beloved fish.  His wife, Shila, desired a retreat to relax and entertain family and friends.   Solid Rock Construction was able to meet both of their desires by designing an 800 sq. ft. addition housing a 20 x 12 ft. (8 ft. deep) pond for the Koi fish, several sitting areas to relax and entertain, and a fully-equipped 20 x 20 ft. mechanical room.  The addition’s exterior matched the design of the existing home while the interior was influenced by the couples love for Japanese gardens and Shila’s  ancestral ties to Japan.  This serene retreat lulls you with the relaxing sounds of water cascading over stone, walls beautifully painted to depict Japanese gardens, potted tropical plants, water lilies softly floating on the pond’s surface, and brightly colored fish surfacing to say hello; all ease your mind and body, allowing you to take a deep breath and escape to a world far away.  Whether Bob and Shila are entertaining or enjoying a quiet glass of wine together, the Koi pond addition has truly turned their house into their dream home.
